The Gym & Hall upgrade at Opononi Area School included complete re-roofing, partial re-pitching, and re-cladding of the Hall/Gym and block 2B, along with internal upgrades to changing rooms, showers, and toilets. The project addressed years of neglect and marine exposure, replacing the decayed roof and fixing water ingress issues. We installed a new Colorsteel roof, skylights, toilets, and shower cubicles, and managed the entire project, including asbestos removal, water-damaged ceiling and wall replacement, window replacement, door refurbishment, painting, electrical system upgrades, IT cabling alterations, fire protection upgrades, and floor covering replacements.
At Plumbing & Heating Centre, we were proud to support the transformation of Opononi School’s gym hall and surrounding facilities as part of a major upgrade project. This comprehensive refurbishment focused on improving functionality, accessibility, and comfort for students and staff alike.
Working closely with the project manager and school leadership, our team delivered a wide range of services; from demolition and plumbing to cabinetry, heating, and compliance upgrades. The result is a refreshed and future-ready space that supports learning, wellbeing, and community use.
